This saga was written around the mid 1200s, in events set a few centuries earlier in Western Iceland and the Viking world at large, of which Iceland was a part of during the Viking golden age between the 9th and 11th centuries. This is a wonderful and interesting piece of Icelandic and Viking cultural history.
