Published in 1876. This is the 1903 Edition. Published, electrotyped and printed by Houghton Mifflin Co.'s Riverside Press of Cambridge, Mass., 357 pages. Gilt-edged on top still in great condition. Gilt heading on cover and spine still good. Excellent for 120+ year old book. Pages inside are excellent and without marks or damage. Good quality paper. And binding works well with no loose leafs. Cover has some wear from age but is functionally good and solid. There is an old initial on the inside back cover. On the inside front cover, there is a very lovely owner's signature form one "Mrs Merton C. Robinson. Christmas 1906" (that in the case of this book adds value and charm).
This is a gem of a book for both its content and its construction. This would make for a very lovely gift for any fans of literature, Emerson, philosophy; or poetry.
