Excellent book and well regarded work by the wonderful historian Durant. In fact, reading his whole series on the The Story of Civilization forms a part of a great education! “A History of Roman Civilization and of Christianity from their beginnings to A.D. 325”, explores the grandeur of Rome and the early roots of Christianity. This was one of Durant's earlier works. He would of course go on later to win a Pulitzer Prize for his work, "Rousseau and Revolution" (1967), the 10th volume of The Story of Civilization.
